The magic of snow in Sicily
If you were thinking that Sicily was only sea holidays, you were making mistake. There is a natural heritage made of a beautiful and high mountain, where if you'd like, you can play winter sports in the snow.
The Madonie mountains rise majestically from the waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea reaching 2000 meters and offering the visitor landscapes of immeasurable beauty. From the height of its 1979 meters, Pizzo Carbonara, the highest peak of the Madonie, second in height only to Etna (3323 meters), dominates the Tyrrhenian Sea and the whole of Sicily, reflecting itself in the crystalline sea of Cefalù. Streams, forests, frozen peaks, hidden valleys, abysses, sinkholes and sinkholes, this and much more offer these reliefs with shapes that are sometimes sweet and soft and sometimes harsh and overhanging, now rich in woods and waters, now arid and steppe. In the heart of the Madonie Park, between Polizzi Generosa, Petralia Sottana, and Isnello, at an altitude of about 1600 meters above sea level, there is the only ski resort with three ski lifts and downhill slopes in western Sicily: Piano Battaglia.
